We enjoy reusing and reinvigorating old buildings and structures; to lengthen their lives and maybe give them new purpose. Building materials are a valuable resource which we should seek to reuse and recycle, as with our normal household rubbish. The best way to achieve this, with the least impact on the environment, is in their as-built form. Whether it be making an old home comfortable for our modern day lives or taking an old building that doesn’t work in its original form and giving it a new use such as a city centre industrial mill building into a shared workplace.
Another strand to this is the conservation of our heritage, the story it tells and the value we place in it.
We use our experience to research, understand, assess and propose solutions to conserve and refurbish these buildings, sensitively and economically. We can prepare listed building applications, heritage impact statements, repair details, and new structural engineering solutions to give these places a future.
